The difference 100 makes

August 24, 2009- The first day of Kindergarten
February 4, 2010- The 100th day of school

It is so hard to believe that today is Tate's 100th day of school! He has come a LONG way since August. That first couple of weeks was hard (on all of us) but we really seem to have gotten into a routine. He is loving school, his teacher, and his friends. He says PE is his favorite part of school and his favorite friends are Jonah and Nick. He loves buying his lunch at school with pizza being his favorite and buying chocolate milk every day is a definite highlight.. He is learning to count by 5's and 10's to 100 and is reading basic sight words. This is our only year at this school as he will be going back to our neighborhood school next year but it has been a great experience for our family and we will miss it next year. To celebrate the 1ooth day his class his making a "100's snack". I told him each child is bringing in a bag of something like goldfish, M&M's, pretzels, etc. and he was going to count out 10 of each to make 100. His response was"You mean I have to eat other people's snack? Gross!" (He reminds me of his aunt Carol alot sometimes) I assured him that each bag had not been opened and he would take the M&M's or goldfish out himself to put in his bag...he doesn't want anyone touching his food! He was also excited because not only was it the 100th day of school but it was also a field trip day (hence the lovely green shirt with kids on it.) Boy, those teachers are in for it today!

What a big, handsome boy! I hope their field trip is somewhere inside today...gross weather to be out in right now. Congrats on making it to 100 (both Tate and his parents!).

Dear Tate
You DON'T have to eat other people's food if you don't want to. Stand up for yourself all the time it will come in handy later. But if it's pre-packaged M&M's and goldfish I think you'll want some. I love you my little man!
Yours Truly
Aunt Carol
