Johnson City

Grant with Santa.....he wasn't so sure about him. He seemed very uninterested.

Tate and Grant in front of a Christmas display.

Last night we ventured to Johnson City to see their lights and the Courthouse all lit up. It was really cool to see. When we got their we started walking and happened to walk right by the Methodist Church's live nativity. It was so great to see. It had a real baby with real animals and people singing. It really put me in the Christmas spirit. The PEC electric company had millions of lights all over their trees. Standing under it looked like daylight even at 9:00 at night! Santa and Mrs. Claus were there but of course as soon as Tate saw them he got scared and wouldn't sit on his lap.(That's what the family picture with Santa is about.) We had a lot of fun and hope to do it again next year!

Tate went to his friend Ryan's house yesterday to play. While he was there the boys put underwear on their heads and said they were in a rock band! So cute....

Grant is 8 months!

Grant is 8 months old today. I can't believe he is already this age. He is getting more and more fun each day and I am so happy he has completed our little family!

Here are 8 things about Grant:

1.He absolutely loves his brother. Tate can always make hime laugh and it is really sweet to see them together. I hope they will always be close.

2. He has recently started to really like taking a bath. He used to cry and scream durig bath time but now he loves to splash the water. He kicks his feet and smiles when he sees the tub being filled.

3. Grant has recently discovered French Bread. Giving him a chunk of this buys me about five to ten minutes of time to get things done. ( of course I stay close by, I wouldn't want him to choke!:) )

4. His favorite numbers are 12 and 3- these are the times (a.m.) he likes to still wake up and make sure we're not doing anything fun without him. Oh, he doesn't wake up twelve times ( I would shoot myself!) He gets up at midnight and 3 almost on the dot each night.

5.Adding to this, he is not a good sleeper at all.....I can hardly tiptoe into his room without waking him up=LIGHT SLEEPER!!!!

6. Just this week he is starting to crawl a tiny bit. ( in other words he takes about two "scoots" until he gets whatever we put in front of him to motivate him then sits up and chews on it)

7. He has 3 real teeth and two that just popped through...OUCH!

8.He is the redhead I didn't know I wanted until he came.... I love him SOOOO much!

What a game!!!

Fun Weekend

This weekend we went to Weatherford to see my family. On Saturday we went out to my dad's ranch and had a cookout with my mom's family. My cousin brought her horses for Tate to ride and of course he loved that! Her daughters also brought their battery powered jeep and four wheeler and Tate thought they were the coolest things ever! We often go to Toys R Us and just sit on them, I don't think he realized they actually move. On Saturday my friend Dallas and her sweet girls Elyn and Nora came over along with her sister Marty. I always love seeing them. Dallas and I were best friends in high school and each time we get together I am reminded of how much fun we had and wished we could see each other more.

Here are some pictures of our weekend.....

Catching up

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. I used to be so frusrated when people would gp days and weeks (sometimes months) without posting anything new. I really don't have a good reason why I have just been lazy I guess. Here are some recent pics....

The boys at the new house just hanging out in a furnitureless ( is that word?) room.

We felt very safe with the army man and the fire man to protect us on Halloween.

The biker baby with daddy.

Halloween Practice

Tonight at our church Care Group we had the kids dress up in their Halloween costumes. It was so fun to see the creativity in our group. We had the beautiful Aeiral from the Little Mermaid, her fish (whose name escapes me), Woody and his horse, a skunk, a monkey, a fireman, a cat, a Yankees baseball player and his bat boy, a fighter man ( sorry, Ty, I forgot exactly what you were called) and then my two, Tate an army man and Grant a biker baby. We are ready for Wednesday!!!

Pumpkin Patch

So last week we ventured out to the Pumpkin Patch, also known as Don's Grass. Tate went there last year with his class and still talks about it so we thought we really should go. We had a great time and because it was almost closing time we had the place to ourselves. While Tate enjoyed looking at the pumpkins he was most excited about the hay maze. Last year he didn't really catch on that you weren't supposed to hop over the hay bales in order to get out so it was fun to watch him this year (and it took him quite a bit longer).

The Zoo

Yesterday some moms and I took our kids to the San Antonio zoo. I had been there a couple of times but we normally just go to the sad, pathetic, rescue animal zoo here in Austin. It was a totally different experience for Tate. They actually had real zoo animals like giraffe, elephants, and zebras here. At the Austin zoo the most exciting animal is the retired Baylor Bear mascot who rarely make an appearance. (I am not a good commercial for the Austin Zoo, am I?) Thanks to Jessica D for planning the trip, it was great!
(Right now Blogger is having trouble uploading pictures but hopefully the problem will be fixed tomorrow and I can show you pics!)

My boys

Some of you haven't seen them ever or in a long time so here is a pretty current picture. Tate is 4 and Grant is 6 months. Wow! It seems like just last week Tate was 6 months old. I love every minute of them!

Okay, so many people have asked me "When are you going to start a blog, Julie". Well, today I had some time and the computer to myself so I thought "Why not?". Please don't expect anything too amazing. I am not good on the computer at all but I will attempt to at least post once or twice a week to let you know what we are up to. JULIE
